Mission: Boid Rescue

Entry for the 2004 Wolverine Soft Game Development Contest Extravaganza!
Theme: Freedom.

This project was an attempt at using flocking algorithms in a game. The objective is to capture the "boids" from five different levels before the time runs out. Boids are also able to free ones already captured, and each time a boid is freed, a replacement cage is used (player has a limited number of replacement cages). Boids move around in groups, avoiding the player. They are attracted to the bait you can fire at them, and also the cages so they can free their friends.

The boids are an endangered species that you've bred in captivity. You want to release them in the wild so they can live free, but first you must round them up.
