Biography

Andrew started playing games on an Atari 800, and has kept up with them since. His game-making debut happened during his senior year in high school, when he made A-Tris, a Tetris clone that let users create and use their own block skins, and kept track of personal high scores and overall high scores of players on the same network. In his freshman year at U of M, he joined the Crisis Wolverine team, editing the game and contributing art for maps. He reprised this role the following year on Crisis Wolverine 2, in addition to writing the dating sequences for that game. For his junior year, he became Secretary of Wolverine Soft, helped set in motion the Wolverine Ware project, and worked on art and programming for Squatter House. Last year, Andrew was the President of Wolverine Soft, worked on the games Wandering Ash, Playplace, and Sleepkeeper, and instituted Wolverine Soft's first Student Video Game Showcase.

  • Stephen Colbert's Battle of Wits Starring Stephen Colbert

Stephen Colbert's Battle of Wits Starring Stephen Colbert

You've seen the man, now be the man. Stephen Colbert is America's best reference for its political candidates. His tough questions expose the truthiness of the situation and show all the candidates for what they really are: not legitimate. Play as Stephen in your goal to lower the legitimacy of each candidate by asking the hard questions guaranteed to fluster them. Developed in the 5th annual 48 hour game development contest.

  • Granicus

    Granicus

Ships are controlled with either wired Xbox 360 controllers or a keyboard. Generic joystick controls are possible but not yet configurable. Granicus is controlled with amouse. This game is two to three players, as the Granicus player is optional.

Two players play as space ships shaped roughly as "equals" signs. Their objective is to shoot at and destroy each other. Players may dodge incoming shots either by simply moving out of the way, or by rotating…

  • PlayPlace

    PlayPlace

PlayPlace was my final project for EECS 494 - Computer Game Design and Development, completed in December 2005. The game uses Direct3D 9.0 for the 3D graphics API. It is designed to be a multiplayer game using Xbox 360 controllers for PC. However, it can be played with the keyboard (single player only), but using an Xbox 360 controller is highly recommended. A fluid physics simulation is the core element of the gameplay, meaning the…

  • Wandering Ash

    Wandering Ash

"The leaf was not always a leaf. Once, the leaf was a person. One day, this person stumbled upon the evil witch's castle, between our world and the world of the void. The witch transformed the person into a leaf, and flung the leaf far away, toward the world of the void. The closer one gets to the world of the void, the fewer things exist. If an object gets too close, its existence threshold…

  • Sleepkeeper

    Sleepkeeper

You are a sleepkeeper. It is your mission to help the person you are assigned to have the longest, happiest dreams possible. Tonight, you have been assigned to Puffball. In the game, you will see Puffball inside a cloud. The cloud represents Puffball's dream, and the more engrossed he is in his dream, the larger the cloud will be. The dream cloud will gradually shrink over time. If the dream shrinks to nothing, Puffball will…

    Squatter House

    The Game:

Many people in the world could use some rest and relaxation. One day, one of these people receives a letter informing them that they have won a free vacation home from a real estate sweepstakes. • Crisis Wolverine 2: Shadows of the Past

Crisis Wolverine 2: Shadows of the Past

Following the success of Crisis Wolverine: Insurrection Green, Crisis Wolverine 2: Shadows of the Past is a top-down Role Playing game for Windows PC. CW2 follows the story of Alex as he discovers the real truth behind Johnny Foreshadow, U of M and those pesky Spartans! CW2 features a bigger cast of characters, memorable villains, familiar (and some unfamiliar) places, a new original soundtrack and art in an interactive RPG World! Don't miss it!!

  • Crisis Wolverine: Insurrection Green

    Crisis Wolverine: Insurrection Green

Crisis Wolverine: Insurrection Green is the top down RPG that took this campus by storm. It is best described as Final Fantasy here on the U of M campus. This highly addictive, simplistic four hour game was... well... pure genius. The hard work really paid off and the development team can happily boast several thousand downloads.

Crisis Wolverine begins with the main character finding himself stranded on the campus of U of M during…

  • Tower of the Stone Curse

    Tower of the Stone Curse

You have walked into the Tower of the Stone Curse! The curse puts a large block of stone around your legs, and if you don't get to the top of the tower, you will turn to stone forever! Luckily, you came to the tower with a device that lets you switch places with the nearest object directly to the North, South, East, or West of you. Get to the portal on each floor of the…

  • WolverineWare

    WolverineWare

WolverineWare is the first true Wolverine Soft community project in a while. Development of this game will be done by programmers, artists, musicians, designers, beginners and experts alike. The idea behind the game is that it will be like WarioWare, Inc. (the GBA game) with a WolverineSoft/UofM theme. It will consist of a huge number of simple, short (as in, a few seconds long) "microgames" each developed by an individual or group of Wolverine Soft…
